Tactics that abusers use include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Physical violence,<\/li>\n<li>sexual violence,<\/li>\n<li>financial abuse<\/li>\n<li>psychological<\/li>\n<li>emotional abuse<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Domestic violence can happen to anyone &#8211; regardless of gender, sex, age, race, religion, ability, sexual orientation, nationality or economic status.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\tEffects of Physical &#038; Sexual Abuse<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Depression<\/li>\n<li>suicidal thoughts &#038; attempts<\/li>\n<li>drug use &#038; drug abuse<\/li>\n<li>aggression<\/li>\n<li>PTSD<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you or someone you know have dealt with sexually assault, you can call our crisis call line to talk with someone or get referred to a Behavioral Health aide that can help.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\tHealthy Relationships<\/p>\n<p>Healthy relationships can be possible if;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>each person is supportive of what the other is interested in<\/li>\n<li>each encourages the other to do new things<\/li>\n<li>each person shares and each person listens<\/li>\n<li>each person has her or his own opinion and it\u2019s okay if they\u2019re not the same<\/li>\n<li>each person gives the other space when it\u2019s needed<\/li>\n<li>each person has her or his own interests<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\t\t\tHealthy Individuals<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>respect Elders<\/li>\n<li>respect others<\/li>\n<li>respect themselves<\/li>\n<li>encourage others<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\t\t\tImpacts on Children<\/p>\n<p>Children can be silent witnesses to acts of tremendous horror. They feel the tension. Children are molded by trauma and the memories stay with them for the rest of their lives.
